Team Leader, Food Services
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15232 (On-site – Shadyside area)
Schedule: Rotating Day & Evening Shifts
New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.60 – $22.26 per hour (Starting pay based on experience, with clear advancement pathways as you build specialized expertise.)
Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $30.25 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)
How You'll Make an Impact
- Daily Operations Support: Assist the Food Service Supervisor in overseeing daily department operations, ensuring high standards for patient and retail meal services.
- Team Training & Mentorship: Orient, train, coach, and conduct routine performance competency checks for hourly food service associates.
- Food Safety & Sanitation Oversight: Monitor food safety, sanitation, and temperature logs daily to maintain strict inspection readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Quality & Inventory Control: Oversee food quality and quantity for menu requirements, perform quality assurance checks, and secure inventory and cash revenues.
- Customer Service Recovery: Address and resolve customer complaints, documenting service recovery actions according to operational guidelines.
What We’re Looking For – Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant food service experience required; minimum of 2 years of leadership/supervisory experience and food preparation experience in a food service or fast-food environment preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical & Industry Skills: Knowledge of commercial food service operations, food prep workflows, inventory control, cash handling procedures, and HACCP food safety standards.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to train and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensure & Clearances: ServSafe Certification strongly preferred (or ANAB-accredited Food Protection Manager certification required within 6 months of hire); Act 34 PA Criminal Record Check.
