Location: On-Site in Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (Oakland area)
Work Schedule: Full-Time Daylight Schedule
New Hire Starting Pay: As a new hire, up to $22.00 per hour, based on skills and experience

As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you are often the first point of clinical contact for our patients. You aren't just collecting samples; you are gathering the vital data our medical team needs to diagnose, treat, and save lives. In this role, you bridge the gap between patient care and laboratory science, working in a fast-paced environment alongside skilled Medical Technologists.
Key Responsibilities
- The Face of Care: Provide a calm, professional, and courteous experience for both inpatients and outpatients, ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence.
- Clinical Precision: Perform expert blood and specimen collection (including arterial punctures) following strict identification protocols to ensure 100% diagnostic accuracy.
- Lab Operations: Support the "behind-the-scenes" engine by managing data entry, test transactions, and essential clerical functions that keep our laboratory running smoothly.
- Mentorship: Share your expertise by helping train new team members, students, and residents, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Mobile Support: Represent the lab during off-site collections and courier duties, ensuring integrity and safety at every step of the journey.

- Adaptability: You’re comfortable shifting between patient rooms, clerical desks, and the lab, managing supplies and costs effectively along the way.
- Communication Skills: You are a clear communicator who knows when to escalate unusual incidents and how to collaborate with a multidisciplinary medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum 6 month’s experience performing phlebotomy is required.
- Certification: Completion of an approved and certified Phlebotomy program, current Phlebotomy Certification
- Skills: Ability to multitask in a busy academic setting and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
- Requirements: Strong computer literacy and data entry skills.
