Lead Oncology Pharmacist – Infusion Services (On-site, Uniontown, PA)
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)
Location: Uniontown, PA 15401
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (Standard daylight schedule; zero holidays or weekends required!)
New Hire Starting Base Pay: $120,000 – $158,000 per year (Placement and starting salary based on post-licensure experience and oncology background.)
Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $196,000 per year over time through performance, leadership tenure, and clinical contribution.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education & Licensure: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (PharmD or BS Pharmacy) with an active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License in good standing.
- Experience Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of post-licensure pharmacist experience required. Prior specialized clinical experience in oncology pharmacy, sterile hazardous compounding (USP <800>), or infusion site operations.
- Leadership Capabilities: Knowledge of state board regulations, DEA compliance, pharmacy workflow optimization, inventory management, and direct staff supervision.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Operational & Clinical Practice (80%): Serve as a hands-on clinical pharmacist overseeing oncology medication preparation, sterile chemo compounding, regimen verification, dosing consultations, and provider/patient education.
- Pharmacy Management & Compliance (20%): Hold the official state pharmacy license and DEA registration certificate for the site, ensuring full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, USP standards, and health system protocols.
- Team Supervision & Development: Oversee daily activities, scheduling, and clinical workflows for site pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; coach, mentor, and assist in training trainees, interns, and residents.
- Formulary, Inventory & Budget Management: Manage drug inventory procurement, lead medication shortage mitigation, oversee hazardous drug handling, assist in budget forecasting, and resolve billing/claims issues.
- Quality Improvement & Safety: Execute quality assurance initiatives, uphold Executive Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee decisions, and serve as the site lead for customer service and interdisciplinary collaboration with medical and nursing staff.
