Financial Navigator / Insurance Specialist
Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15243 (On-site - South Hills / Mt. Lebanon area)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No evenings, weekends, or holidays!)
Starting Base Pay: $18.99 – $23.50/hr (Starting rate is based on experience)
Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $28.11/hr over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)
How You'll Make an Impact
- Patient Financial Advocacy: Meet with patients and families to explain costs, review billing options, and enroll underinsured patients in financial assistance programs.
- Co-Pay & Grant Navigation: Connect self-pay and specialty drug patients with foundation grants, pharmaceutical co-pay assistance, and state programs.
- Insurance & Authorizations: Verify coverage and secure prior authorizations for complex oncology treatments before care begins.
- Clinic Operations Support: Assist the front-desk team with intake, appointment scheduling, and phone triage to keep daily clinic operations running smoothly.
- Billing Collaboration: Partner with the central billing office to resolve open claim inquiries for walk-in patients.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3+ years in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Experience navigating EMR systems (Epic experience is a major plus!) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of medical insurance verification, prior authorization processes, and third-party payer rules.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, compassionate problem-solving, and a commitment to patient privacy (HIPAA).
