Remote - Certified Medical Assistant 

Role Type: Full-Time, Regular Employee (Permanent placement on company payroll, not contract/temp)

Shift: Day Job (Monday through Friday, standard daytime business hours. No weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts).

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote / Work from Home

Location: Southwestern Region, Pennsylvania

New Hire Starting Salary Range: $18.59 – $22.50 per hour base wage (After hire, pay increases can be earned, see below).

About the Opportunity
This is a permanent, full-time career opportunity for a tech-savvy medical professional to join a centralized division. Operating in a fully virtual capacity, this role supports up to five regional primary care practices, providing elite clinical stability, a predictable schedule, and zero travel requirements.

Purpose
The Remote Certified Medical Assistant functions as an essential virtual clinical anchor within a highly specialized Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Rather than performing traditional physical floor duties, this specialized medical assistant leverages digital healthcare technologies to manage comprehensive Inbox Coordination, advanced Pre-Visit Planning, specialized Medication Refills, and complex insurance Prior Authorizations. By streamlining high-volume clinical workflows, closing patient care gaps, and managing digital charts, this professional dramatically reduces administrative burdens for regional providers while ensuring timely, standardized care for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities
  • Virtual Care Line Support: Anchor administrative and clinical queues, managing the electronic inbox, routing physician messages, and addressing incoming requests to provide essential remote patient support.
  • Pre-Visit Planning & Gap Closure: Review, clean, and organize electronic patient charts across multiple regional clinics to confirm that incoming diagnostic paperwork, hospital discharge notes, and laboratory or X-ray reports are fully compiled prior to provider encounters.
  • Medication & Refill Coordination: Navigate and process incoming prescription refill requests and coordinate closely with pharmacy networks under the direct supervision and guidelines of attending physicians.
  • Prior Authorizations & Form Management: Gather and submit required medical documents, clinical codes, and demographic profiles to secure third-party insurance approvals for specialized treatments and diagnostic testing.
  • Database & Schedule Management: Audit practice management scheduling grids, verify patient insurance parameters, update demographic variables, and schedule specialized multi-practice appointments.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Privacy: Manage, transfer, and store electronic health records in strict compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), OSHA guidelines, and corporate privacy frameworks.
  • Patient Education & Communication: Contact patients and families directly via secure communication channels to relay provider instructions, clarify care protocols, and provide required medical education.
  • Workflow Standardization: Collaborate dynamically with regional multidisciplinary teams to continuously improve, scale, and standardize virtual workflows across the entire Primary Care Service Line.
Minimum Essential Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Direct experience navigating the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) database or a background functioning as an active Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Technical & Clinical Orientation: Strong foundational knowledge of standard medical terminology, diagnostic request tracking, and treatment room operations.
  • Computer Skills: Prior experience with EPIC and Microsoft Excel, spreadsheet manipulation, or general office software is required.
  • Digital Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume virtual workflow environment while maintaining excellent time management and organizational control.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances
  • Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA) valid and current
