Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Service Coordinator

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job)

Location: Monroeville, PA 15146 (In addition to working onsite in Monroeville, this role requires floating to West Mifflin, McKeesport, and downtown Pittsburgh location).  This role will receive float pay and is mileage reimbursement eligible. 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (No evenings, weekends, or holidays)

New Hire Starting Base Pay: $18.99 – $21.27 per hour (Starting pay based on experience, education level, and credential placement, with clear career ladder advancement pathways.)

Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $28.11 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Education & Environment: High School Diploma or GED required; ability to float across assigned regional outpatient centers.
  • Clinical & Administrative Background: High school diploma with patient care experience, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant/LPN/EMT program, or active MA certification (AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NHA) required. (Placement into MA, Senior MA, Expert MA, or Patient Service Coordinator title determined by experience and certifications).
  • Clinical Skillset: Proficiency in taking vital signs, specimen testing, conducting EKGs, stocking exam rooms, and assisting providers with clinical procedures (e.g., bone marrow biopsy scheduling, blood product coordination).
  • Front-Office Operations: Experience with front-desk reception, multi-line phone coverage, patient intake/registration, insurance verification, 100% point-of-service co-pay collection, and appointment/testing scheduling.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills, familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, and working knowledge of medical terminology.
How You'll Make an Impact

  • Dual Clinical & Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive dual-role support by facilitating smooth patient flow, triaging arriving oncology patients, and preparing clinical examination rooms.
  • Direct Patient Care & Clinical Testing: Perform vital signs, point-of-care specimen testing, EKGs, and assist physicians and RNs with clinical tasks, including blood product ordering and bone marrow biopsy procedure coordination.
  • Patient Arrival & Financial Intake: Greet patients and families, assist with clinical registration, verify insurance coverage, collect co-payments daily, and manage lobby waiting areas.
  • Clinic Scheduling & Coordination: Schedule follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, and specialized oncology procedures while maintaining active communication between patients, physicians, and lab staff.
  • Environment & Safety Oversight: Maintain clinic cleanliness, order unit supplies, ensure patient safety, and maintain high visibility in reception areas to answer patient questions compassionately.
