Certified Medical Assistant (Hanover, PA 17331)
Role Type: Full-Time, Employee of the Company (Not a temp or contract assignment)
Shift: Monday–Friday (Shifts between 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM; rotating late shift until 7:00 PM approximately once per month)
Work Arrangement: On-site
Location: Hanover, PA 17331 (Occasional travel to additional sites including South Hanover, Gettysburg, and York required)
New Hire Salary Range: $19.41 – $21.85 per hour

Purpose
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join a busy, fast-paced specialty cardiology and vascular practice. This role offers a collaborative environment supporting both clinical and front office operations. The ideal candidate is an adaptable team player who takes initiative to deliver an exceptional patient experience. While prior medical assistant experience is valued, comprehensive training is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Support: Accompany patients to exam rooms, collect histories, take vital signs, and perform routine screenings. Prepare procedure rooms, set up equipment, and maintain strict infection control protocols.
- Advanced Clinical Tasks: Under physician supervision, perform phlebotomy, EKGs, level-one laboratory tests, and administer injections or vaccines.
- Front Office Operations: Assist with patient check-in/check-out, verify insurance coverage, update demographics, manage chart preparation, and handle phone triage.
- Patient Navigation: Help patients understand clinical instructions, relay provider messages, and provide individualized patient and family education as directed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Document all patient data accurately within the electronic health record (Epic) while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and Department of Health regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates not possessing the following minimum requirements will not be considered for this role:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program
- Certification Requirement: Current, unexpired certification (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP), or an equivalent clinical background (LPN/RN/EMT) required.
- Computer skills and working knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic, and treatment room workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive medical records.
- Reliable transportation to support occasional travel to neighboring regional clinics.
- CPR/BLS certification required based on AHA standards (must include both a didactic and hands-on skills demonstration component) within 30 days of hire.
